Why were the Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II PASS Objectives reviewed and reorganized?

0

Several factors are taken into consideration each time the State Department of Education and State Board of Education review the Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS). Although the August 2006 update of Algebra I is mostly just a reorganization, there are two “new” objectives. The February 2007 updates of Geometry and Algebra II included more changes. All of the changes serve the primary purpose of aiding classroom teachers in determining what and how to teach the Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II objectives. Additionally, the reorganization allows for additional alignment to the PASS objectives for other grades and courses and to the College and Work-Ready Benchmarks associated with the American Diploma Project.
