Why were black men given the right to vote before all women in the USA?
think about what you’re saying. if all women were given the right to vote before black men, black women would still not have been able to vote. the law applied to black people. i guess at that time black men were seen as educated than white women and there fore easier to control. i think it was a smart move on black women’s part to try to get black men’s voting rights, because if women were allowed to vote black women would still have not been able to vote. plus men were seen as head of the house hold and the theory at the time was that women would just follow their husbands votes…………so why add more people to the mix if they’re just saying the same thing.
