Why WAV only?

Using MP3 files can have many drawbacks when compressing your video productions. Due to the nature of the MP3 file being a lossless format, further degradation causes the music to degrade badly and sound terrible. Using a WAV file in your production will mean if you need to compress the file for internet playback the music will retain a better quality as you will be compressing the file only once. Another very good reason is that a file will be sample accurate so if you need to chop up the file to shorten or lengthen it, you can easily do that using the WAV version. An inherent problem with MP3 files is that the encoding places a small gap at the beginning and end of an MP3 file which is why you can’t use an MP3 file for loops. This gap also causes problems when trying to edit a music file even if you know the BPM as it will not line up exactly on the beat. The only real advantage of MP3 files are their small sizes, but most internet connections are fast enough now to handle a wav down
