Why wasn an invoice created for a buyers CA store purchase?

In order for invoices to be created from a ChannelAdvisor store, the buyer must complete checkout. If the buyer never clicks the “Complete Checkout” button located on the last page of checkout, an invoice will never be created for the item(s).
