Why was value system and culture so important?
A. We are a values driven organization. Probably, the single biggest differentiator for the cooperative in the UK is that we are an ethical bank. We turn business away from quite a large number of potential customers because they do not fit our ethical policy. We are very keen on sustainability. Because we are a cooperative means we can share our profits with our members and also our community, which is very important for us. So, we wanted to be working with an organization that had similar values. Although Infosys is not a cooperative I think right through the way the business was started off we sensed that this is an ethical business. This is a business which takes its responsibility to the community very seriously, and that meant a lot to us. Also, quite at the early stage we met Nandan and Haragopal and it was clear that they were people, who once they took on a customer, were very serious about meeting customer needs and took it personally. Again, that was really important to us.
