Why was there an Irish potatoe famine?
there was this disease among vegetables that spread and they killed alot of vegetables and mostly potatoes, people at that time relied alot on potatoes(easy to cook and good taste and of course cheap) so when potatoes went on shortage lots of people died from famine and o yea this is a pretty random question
Krakatoa, the volcano and former island in the Pacific erupted (like Mt. St. Helens, in Washington state, U.S., but like 100 times worse) and spewed ash and all kinds of other crap into the air, blocking the sun, etc. The resulting pollution (NOT caused by man, but by the Earth (AGAIN!!!)) caused all kinds of problems around the world, including the Irish potato famine. I wrote a FunFacts about it on my 360 blog explaining it. Anyhow, once again, the Earth had supassed humans in destroying itself, and continues to do so to this day. More oil leaks into the ocean from cracks and fissures at the bottom of the ocean EVERY DAY, than the Exxon Valdez did. The oceans are still the number one contributor of CFC’s into the atmosphere. And volcanoes spew more pollution into the air than man-made structures do. (These are all true and verifiable, unlike my nutjob counterparts on the Left will do.) When will we wake up and realize the Earth has to be stopped from destroying itself?!
