Why was the Tower of Babel demolished?

0

The Bible says nothing about the Tower of Babel being demolished. It just says that after God made the builders unable to understand each other’s speech, they “stopped building” and “scattered in all directions.” Genesis 11:7-9. If the site of the Tower of Babel later became the Temple of Marduk in the city of Babylon (as many think) then it would have fallen into ruins with the rest of the city after 275 BCE, when a new capital was built at Seleucia.
