Why was the Themos Fire and Ice grill Discontinued?
According to Thermos it wasn’t “discontinued”, it was “retired”. In the world of marketing and sales, there is a huge difference. Retired makes it look more like it was a classic that was moved out of the line to make room for new products. “Discontinued” sounds like there was something wrong with it. “Discontinued” is thisclose to “recalled” and nobody wants that in there history of products. The Fire & Ice grill was a bit heavy and could be hard to light (especially on windy days) but it was a good seller for Thermos. It was just time to give the ol’ boy his gold watch and add him to the hall of fame.
