Why was the synthesis report prepared?
A3. Many health studies have been performed throughout the years because of the historic and current presence of the nuclear industry in Port Hope and because some residents have expressed concerns about possible health effects in the community. The CNSC’s Commission Tribunal therefore requested CNSC staff to draft a report to integrate the results and conclusions of all Port Hope health studies that had been conducted over the years. The synthesis report was prepared to meet this commitment.
