Why was the Snow Emergency Command Center created?
The new FM Snow Emergeny Command Center was developed to collect and provide better information about the outlying areas of the University and the neighborhoods in which faculty, staff and student live. The center contains extensive communications equipment to collect and share information with county, state, campus officials, UM Shuttle Bus, and weather and news sources. Notice of campus closings are reported through local radio and television broadcasts. Additional information may be obtained by calling Work Control at 301-405-2222.
