Section 1012 of the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, 2005 (Public Law 109-13, 11 May 05) increases the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance maximum coverage to $400,000 effective 1 Sep 05. By law, all Airmen are automatically insured for $400,000 and may decline or reduce coverage in increments of $50,000.
