Why was the sabbath day changed to sunday instead of saturday by the catholic church.?

For over 1400 years the Jews worshipped on the Sabbath (Saturday) because it was ordained in the 4th commandment. But we observe sunday. Why? First, nowhere does the Fourth Commandment say that Christians are to worship on the Sabbath. It commands that we rest on that day. The resurrection of Jesus Christ happened on a Sunday. (Luke 24:1) The early church was commanded to bring their tithes on Sunday (Acts 20:7; 1Cor 16:1) Jesus endorsed this, most of His post resurrection appearences occured on Sundays including His last recorded appearance: “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet” (Rev. 1:10) Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. There has always been those Christians who celebrate Sabbath rather than Sunday. Judge not, nor let thier legalism destroy our freedom of serving Christ on the Lord’s Day. God Bless You.
