Why was the roman army so important for the empire?

0

Without their army they would never have atchieved anything. The Roman army was probably one of the best trained armies at the time, compared with the tibal people who had bad weapons and almost no armour. Another key part in the Roman army was their organisation, the barbarien tribes just ran into battle with very little tactics. The Romans had all sorts of formations they used so that it is easier to control their army in a a battle as well as transport them. If it were’nt for the army, there wouldn’t have been a Roman Empire and if they had one in the beginning, their fall could have come centuries earlier.
