WHY WAS THE OLDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD A SMOKER?
Until a few years ago the oldest man in the world lived in China and he was a smoker. He lived in a remote village and died at over 120 years old. I do not hear the BMA making any comments about this fact. To look at the facts in a pragmatic way. Before the 1960 s hard drugs were never discused, they were not available at school, the worst thing kids did was to have a cigarette behind the bicycle sheds. Now it is different, drugs are available like sweets and what does the Government do, it attacks the smokers because they do something that is legal and an easy target. Please also remember some of the worlds politicians have admitted they used hard drugs in the past (not now) so maybe they are sympathetic to the users of such substances. If one looks at countries that have discouraged Cigarette use over a long period of time, and the clasic is Singapore.
