Why was the Mining Supply and Service industry left out?

It may seem strange that the minister didn’t include the Mining Supply and Services(MS&S) Industry in his original statement. The MS&S is a major employer in Sudbury and North Bay and the fastest growing section of the mineral industry. It offers the most important opportunity to build on our mineral wealth. Why did the minister leave out the most promising part of his own riding? Maybe the MS&S industry is not seen as part of northern development and Mining. Logically it might be better under the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development. Maybe it was because the ministry couldn’t decide which MS&S representative to pick. SAMSSA, the organization that represents the MS&S sector in the North, was just a baby when the Council was created. the Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Service Association formed in October of 2003. It is now the only legitimate voice of the MS&S sector in Northern Ontario. The Ministry, on the other hand, seems to be committed to a national organization of supplier
