Why was the middle of the second floor left open to the lower level and not used for more class rooms, etc?
The second floor of the building was left open in order to accommodate the type and caliber of sporting activities that will be taking place within the centre. Sports such as soccer, volleyball, baseball etc, will be much better received and executed if the ceiling isn’t acting as an obstruction to the play. Classrooms and meeting rooms have been strategically located in other areas of the building away from the noise that accompanies physical activities and recreational endeavors.
