Why was the Miami YAC formed?
• Miami Young Agents was formed to create a fun, social avenue for young people to become more active in the insurance industry. We want to create and environment where the future leaders of our industry can get involved and get to know each other now. Is there a difference between FAIA? • The two organizations both launched about two years ago and work closely together to create opportunities for young insurance professionals in Florida. FAIA’s YAC is part of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents. That organization is based in Tallahassee, is statewide and offers a lot of great opportunities, including annual conventions in Tallahassee, a strong emphasis on lobbying and governmental involvement, as well as affiliation with the National Young Agents Council. Here in Miami-Dade County, our emphasis is more on networking and local camaraderie.
