Why was the interim sign ordinance adopted?
The interim sign ordinance was called interim for a reason. Rather than having a moratorium or quickly adopting a permanent sign ordinance that would have very limited opportunity for public input, the interim ordinance was adopted to allow some signage, but to provide time to look at updating the old sign ordinance. It was seen as a stop-gap measure to ensure that the wide variety of signage could be considered.
