Why was the heliocentric model of the solar system not readily accepted at first?
I don’t know what heliocentric means but I’ll tell you something. When Galileo and Copernicious both studied the solar system using telescopes, Copernicious said the sun went round Earth. Galileo was right when he said that actually the Earth and all the others planets went round the sun. The Catholic church supported Copernicious. They liked the idea of being the centre of the solar system and when Galileo published a book on his theories, I think they put him under house arrest and forced him to declare he was lying(he wasn’t). Everyone thought the church was always right, so it took a while for the truth to be accepted. I telling you what I remember from my History classes. Good luck. P.S. you might want to verify my info.
