why was the fourth amendment written
The forth amendment of the US Constitution protects you from unreasonable search and seizures. This means that in order for someone, be them police or government, can search your person or property, they must have a warrant and probable cause. It was created because of the way the British could search anyone’s home at anytime as long as they had a general warrant. The warrant only gave them permission to enter but didn’t say what for.
