Why was the blue box paper recycling collection being withdrawn?
The Ecodeco waste treatment plant can mechanically recover paper from your mixed waste and make it into a solid recovered fuel resource. As Ecodeco is now fully operational, the Council reviewed the requirement for a separate paper collection. The Council concluded that stopping this service would represent best value, as this service costs £587,000.
