Why was the berlin wall created?
Basically it was to prevent people from East Berlin escaping to West Berlin. The East Berlin was considered to be a communist state which required large workforce to maintain its ‘economy’ but since living in a communist state had too many restrictions, many East Berlin people wanted to escape to West Berlin. Not only was the wall built, it had also been modified and fortified (several times) to counteract any escape attempts.
