Why was the ancient egyptian cartouche so important to the egyptian culture?
The cartouche was a means of depicting that the name it contained was of great significance. It was in almost all cases a Royal Pharonic name. Found all though out Egyptian Pharonic history is could be carved,written or depicted in wall painting. It is recognised as, an elongated oval form of frame that encircles the indicated name and title of the person the hieroglyphs relate to.
