Why was the 1988 flood in bangladesh so much worse than the other floods in bangladesh?
The initial flood that began in late 1987 and continued throughout 1988 was caused by the synchronization of peak flow of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers. All four types of floods including, storm surge flood, rain flood, flash flood and riverine flood that occur in Bangladesh contributed to the 1988 flooding.
