It can only be speculated as to why Sonic could not actually be heard saying anything by the end of the Japanese version of this episode. One theory would be that it was to be up to the audience to guess what Sonic did say in this scene. The 4kids dub of this episode has Sonic saying that he will not leave Amy whereas the French dub of the episode actually has him saying that he loves her.
