Why was Richard Kimbles wife killed on the 1963 series?
I’m not sure if a reason was ever given outside of it being an “accident”. Richard Kimble had fought with his wife over them adopting a child (she had given birth but the infant dies and she is told she can no longer have children). So he goes out for a drive to cool off. When he comes back he almost hits a man (the infamous 1 armed man) who had come running from his home (Kimbel’s). Kimbel goes inside to find his wife dead. He gets wrongly convicted and you know the rest of the story.
