The Proctor and Gamble Co. has announced a recall of the popular cold medicine Vicks Dayquil due to its packaging.The recall was announced just last Friday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and resulted in roughly 700,000 packages to be recalled.The recall of Dayquil was a result of the packaging of the popular product not being child-proof. The Dayquil product hit by the recall is Vicks Dayquil Cold & Flu 24-Count Bonus Pack Liquicaps.The products have a UPC # 3-23999-01087-1.All of the products were shipped to stores and sold between September and December of 2009.The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that there was nothing on the package that warned of it not being child-proof.If a young chidl was to swallow the pills, it could lead to serious health issues.Proctor and Gamble Co.
