Why was NGA included in the BRAC process?
The Department of Defense uses BRAC to achieve several goals: eliminate excess infrastructure, reshape our military, pursue jointness, optimize military readiness and realize significant savings in support of transforming the DOD. Consolidating NGA facilities in the east will improve critical security and force protection for the Agency and will create a secure, world-class working environment that will better enable the NGA to accomplish its increasingly complex, diverse and expanding missions.
