Why was Louis XIVs form of government absolute monarch?

0

He was an absolute monarch because he did not want to share the power of the throne. He, like his fathers, believed that God had chosen them to rule France. When Louis XIV finally realized his government was in trouble he reluctantly tried to share his power by calling a meeting of the Estates General (the clergy, the wealthy, and all the commoners), which hadn’t been done in many years. He dismissed this meeting when the third class (the commoners) tried to get more say in the government. Monarchs generally do not want to share of their power with anyone else that is why their ideal form is absolute monarchy, where their power is God-given and therefore not questioned.
