Why was Leeds chosen in particular?
We’ve tried to play most places in the UK over the last few months to get our stuff out there because we’ve been away for a while and Leeds was one of the places that we hadn’t visited so it made sense to do that. So a good place for us. So the gig’s in collaboration with MySpace. Do you think the ‘MySpace phenomenon’ is over now? I think as a social networking site that’s all kind of died down now but I think as a hub for finding new music it still has a place. For new music it’s still the first place I certainly go if I hear about someone new and want to check them out because I know I’ll get to hear a few tracks. I can’t think of anything that’s really on the same level as MySpace in terms of what it brings to new music. Whether it can still break acts I’m not sure. Obviously the Arctic Monkeys were one of the first bands to really break it through MySpace and I’m not sure that could happen again on the same level but if there’s a buzz around a new artist I think people are still go
