Why was Kansas-Nebraska act a bad idea?

0

The Kansas-Nebraska Act was a very bad idea because it repealed the Missouri Compromise of 1820 and allowed popular soveriegnty to decide the issue of wether those states would be free states or slave states. Popular sovereignty refers to the practice of allwoing citizens to vote on whether they were to have their state free or slave. It was a bad idea because it led to tensions and helped cause the Civil War.
