Why was important Harry S. Truman during the war and in US history?
Harry S. Truman was noted for his straight talk (no political rhetoric) and taking responsibility. His “The Buck Stops Here” slogan became the trademark of those who also accept responsibility. He was a no-nonsense president. The most notable decisions were when he fired Gen. Douglas McArthur and to use the atomic bomb on Japan. Both had a profound effect on US history.
