Why was HolyAvenger given a newsgroup?
The response to HolyAvenger’s lies and forged posts in the hacker newsgroups was so overwhelming, so over powering, that HolyAvenger posts flooded the newsgroups to the point that even he couldn’t try to avoid answering demands for the truth. HolyAvenger made sure that topics about himself outnumbered all other topics in the newsgroups, including spam topics, combined! HolyAvenger tried to get people to vote in alt.config about his own news group, but it was reject. He threw a temper tantrum and begged and pleaded with real hackers to find out how to make a newsgroup on his own. He made it and it was instantly removed by alt.config, but finally due to constant newgroup messages, he got it to stay on some servers. Now the new newsgroup, alt.2600.holyavenger, is said to be one of the most popular hacker newsgroups even though it gets 2 posts a week, and other hacker newsgroups are still the same because Holyavenger crossposts to them. .
