Why was high pressure introduced with the CryoPen ?

0

The innovation of the Penetrating Jet Freezing (PJF)-principle with the CryoPen is considered the most important development in cryotherapy in the last decade. The technology used is of great value. High pressure jets of liquid are addressed through micro-fine applicators to evaporate on the lesion at minus (-)89°C. The pressure is constant at 55 bar. As a direct result, penetration into the lesion will go much faster and deeper with no collateral tissue damage. Thanks to the extreme heat exchange within the tissue, cryo-necrosis will develop in as small an area as 1mm. A uniform temperature will exist throughout the ice-ball with a sharp line of demarcation between total tissue destruction and total viability.
