Why was he called The Lone Ranger when he usually had his faithful companion Tonto with him?
According to his legend, the Lone Ranger and ten other Rangers were hot on the trail of an outlaw gang. They were led into an ambush in which the other 10 were killed and he was thought to be dead too. Along came Tonto who found a slight pulse in the Lone Ranger, so Tonto nursed him back to health. And, they have been companions ever since that day.
