The algorithms used by fsolve were not numerically well behaved. MathWorks did not feel that these algorithms met the standards required for approved software. We recommend the version of fsolve in the Optimization Toolbox . If your site doesn’t have the Optimization Toolbox, you can get the old version of fsolve from ftp.mathworks.com in /pub/contrib/optim/fsolve35.
