Why was flashmob4charity.org formed?
Flashmob4charity.org was formed as a response to the massive funding shortfalls at U.S. charities caused by the recession. While demand is way up, financial donations are way down. As a result many charities are being forced to turn away families and children in need or let staff members go. By using the power of the web to amass a large number of people who each contribute a small sum we hope to make a huge difference for these organizations and the people they serve during 2009 as the economy struggles to recover.
