French news agency AFP reports that Gahan suffered from “suspected gastroenteritis”. Gahan became ill in his dressing room as the concert crowd was gathering at the Terra Vibe Park venue approximately 30 miles north of Athens. The crowd of between 20,000 and 30,000 was told the show would be canceled. Spectators were told to retain their tickets in case the singer was well enough to reschedule the concert for Wednesday. The band is scheduled to play Istanbul on Thursday. No word yet on any further cancellations.
