Why was Cordelia so rich?
Cordelia was rich due to her father’s wealth, although we do not actually know what it is her father did to have made him so wealthy. We have never actually had an encounter with Cordelia’s parents and know very little about them. We do know, however, that Cordelia’s father cheated on his taxes for the last twelve years, causing the Chase family to lose all their money and possessions. Cordelia, now dirt poor, was forced to work at the dress shop called ‘April Fools’ to pay for her prom dress (which Xander ended up buying for her).
