Why was Carrie by stephen king banned?
I recently read Carrie for school and there were several reasons why it was banned. Carrie has a graphic scene in the locker room shower and sex scene. There is violence and a lot of cursing. There are other controversial things that it may have been challenged for such as its negative take on religion and emotional torture of a student. The book is definitely not for a young audience.
