The WHEEL BOSS End Play Gauge (part number WB210K) can verify the proper end play in a wheel-end that uses any multiple or single spindle nut arrangement. The Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) Recommended Practice 618 (RP618) identifies the need to verify wheel-end settings with a dial indicator. The WHEEL BOSS Adjusting Nut installation procedure does not require the use of this gauge; however, it would be good shop practice to have one on hand to audit wheel-ends and to use on traditional wheel-ends.
