Why use search engines?
You use search engines to find information but more than that… Search engines like Google prioritise information. The most important and popular documents go near the top. So you use search engines to find “relevant” information. Search engines have evolved over the last 15 years. When I first started using search engines, you’d type in a keyword and get loads of results that weren’t prioritised, they were just a collection of pages that matched the word I had typed. Information changes constantly, so we also use search engines to find up to date information. We don’t want to read information that is a day old, we want information that is new and up to date.
