The introduction of new technologies, products or materials is often accompanied by a promise of environmental improvements. At the same time, the fear of an undesirable impact on the environment or people arises, primarily because the technology, product or material introduces new aspects that have not been thoroughly examined. This lack of knowledge often results in a so-called “fear of technology” and may unnecessarily diminish or delay the effectiveness of a new product on the market.
