In Alberta, independent developers generate power in response to competitive market forces. The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the system that coordinates its operation, but not its production. All requests for interconnection to Alberta’s electricity grid are tracked through the AESO’s interconnection queue and can be found on the AESO’s website at www.aeso.com.
