Why use digital cameras instead of film?

0

Over the years, we have used both professional medium format film cameras and digital cameras. We now shoot 100% digital. While it is ‘technically’ true that film holds a higher resolution than digital, there are 2 fantastic advantages to digital. The first is that it allows us to get an ‘instant’ quality feedback (review) of the photograph taken. In a real-time sense, with digital, we are able to confirm our lighting, composition, and focusing. The second advantage is that of retouching and special effects…where digital capabilities are endless. Incidentally, with our digital cameras (Nikon D100’s), prints up to 24 X 30 are possible.
