Why use carpet mats?
Carpet-type mats are solution dyed and made from polypropylene pile (a synthetic fibre), with rubber or vinyl backing. Price-wise, the vinyl backed version is the cheaper one, but the rubber backed type is the better one for quality. Carpet-type mats with rubber backing are longer lasting, with a backing of specialty grip cleated rubber. The rubber backing minimises movement in most carpets and improves traction on hard surfaces, making it a safer option for foot traffic, prams, wheelchairs and trolleys. Vinyl backed carpet-type mats are perfect for high-traffic areas, especially when price is the predominant concern and not appearance. Carpet-type mats are designed to be used in dry areas. Their unique ridge construction is highly efficient in removing and trapping dirt and moisture. They are most commonly use in clubs, hotels or retail-in fact, any commercial building where there’s a dry area. Their main purpose is to protect flooring where people are coming in from a wet or a dirty
