Why use a robot?

0

As the above description shows, the process is quite complex and requires the repeated use of a series of jigs and fixtures. As one jig is referenced from the position of the previous, it is possible to build up an error in the location of the cuts. When such errors occur, problems can result: • poor joint geometry resulting in an incorrect walking gait • poor joint/bone bonding resulting in (a) pain and (b) low joint life The use of a robot allows us to dispense with the jigs and fixtures, making all measurements from a common reference frame. This removes the possibility of accumulated errors.
