Why use a PebbleTec product as the pool’s interior finish?
The lifespan of a PebbleTec pool finish is 20+ years as compared to a traditional plaster finish at 7-10 years. PebbleTec also warrants their product for five years as compared to a one year guarantee with traditional plaster finishes. The reasons are evident in the content of each finish’s composition. A Pebble Tec® finish consists of 50% cement and 50% silica (stone). PebbleTec products have a consistency of color and pebble distribution throughout, the thickness of the finish is 3/8″ to ½”. Because 90-95% of the surface is pebbles, it is much more resistant to acid and poor water chemistry.
