Why Use a Mechanical Hand Weeder to Control Weeds?

The use of rotating hoes or conoweeders to control weeds gives farmers a bonus from active soil aeration, which enhances plants health and crop yield. While weeds can be controlled or removed by hand weeding or use of herbicides,this foregoes the benefits of soil aeration that promotes root growth and the abundance, diversity and activity of beneficial soil biota.
