Why use a lambs wool wash mitt and not a sponge?
A. A wash mitt is FAR safer on the paint than a sponge because it collects the dirt from the car in a different way. Have you looked at your car in bright sunlight? Have you noticed the swirl marks in the paint? It looks like a kind of cobweb effect in the paint surface that you can’t get off, even when you try to apply a polish? That’s the result of grit beign dragged along with a sponge, or regular visits to the conveyor belt washers. Imagine your dirty car, with small particles of grit and road dirt on the paint. A sponge has a flat surface so the dirt has nowhere to go, it’s trapped between the paint surface and the flat face of the sponge. Once you start to clean the car with the sponge, the particles of dirt are dragged around when you wipe the car and they cut into the top layer of the clearcote or paint of your car. After a few washes (even on a brand new car) your car will soon end up looking like this if incorrectly washed. Now lets talk about the wash mitt. They are made fro
